"Yiwen Jianziben" does not cover the 345 Yi syllables that have a diacritical mark indicating that they are Secondary High Tone mutations (i.e. those syllables spelled with a final "X" using the Yi Phonetic Alphabet). These diacritical syllables are identical to one of the other syllables in a different tone (normally a Mid Level Tone, unmarked in the Yi Phonetic Alphabet), but with the addition of a semi-circular diacritical mark (e.g. I [U+A002] + diacritic = IX [U+A001]). In the Radical/Stroke data above the stroke count given for these diacritical syllables is the same as the corresponding non-diacritical syllable, but marked with an asterisk. An Yi Radical/Stroke implementation may wish to include the diacritical mark in the stroke count, in which case all stroke counts marked with an asterisk should be incremented by one. 3. "Yiwen Jianziben" does not include U+A015 [WU], as this syllable does not represent a specific phonetic value, but is used as a Syllable Iteration Mark. This iteration mark is often used after adjectives or verbs, where reduplication of the final syllable indicates the interrogative. For example, BBO ꁧ [U+A067] means "to go", whilst BBOX W ꁦꀕ [U+A066, U+A015], pronounced BBOX BBO, means "shall we go ?". Note that in the Yi Phonetic Alphabet this syllable is represented as "W" not "WU". 4. Although the Unicode YI RADICALS block [A490..A4CF] comprises fifty-five characters, "Yiwen Jianziben" actually indexes Yi syllables according to twenty-six primary radicals (1-26 in the Radical/Stroke data).
